As part of this network, OU has established an agreement with Los Andes University in Bogota, Colombia. Each year, students from Los Andes study at OU while faculty from OU’s Mewbourne College of Earth and Energy dedicate time at Los Andes to teach petroleum engineering and geoscience courses. Xingru Wu, MPGE Associate Professor, has been teaching Thermal Recovery this semester as part of the new master’s in petroleum engineering degree at Los Andes. MPGE faculty Deepak Devegowda and Ahmed Jamili have also taught coursework coordinated by EIA at Los Andes during 2016, and as a result of the relationship formed between Los Andes and OU, once approved in 2017, students from OUÂ will be able to attend Los Andes through a study abroad program.
