On Thursday, December 8, MPGE played host to the 30th Annual Teddy Bear Tea. The event, which was begun by the Oklahoma Geological Survey in 1986, is a yearly tradition that brings together the OU community to collect toys for local children and youth. This year’s recipient was the Children’s Hospital at OU. To help celebrate thirty years of giving, a number of special guest attendees visited including OU coaches Sherri Coale, KJ Kinsler, Lon Kruger and Mark Williams; members of OU Spirit and Sooner; and OU royalty Mr. OU, Mr. and Miss Asian OU, Miss Hispanic OU, Miss Indian OU and Engineering King and Queen; Miss Moore-Norman. Attendance and participation was higher than ever with close to 500 toys collected. MPGE thanks all who came to the event and showed their support for the children with their generous donations.
