Faculty Research Update: February 2017

  • Xingru Wu, Associate Professor, has been awarded a $45,000 project by Ballard Petroleum, Phase I of Gaither Draw Units Well Spacing Optimization Study
  • Wu has also received funding in the amount of $40,000 from Yangtze University for his project Using Molecular Dynamics Simulation to Study Gas Phase and Flow Behaviors in Shale Formations
  • Associate Professors Ramadan Ahmed and Catalin Teodoriu, along with Assistant Professor Saeed Salehi, drilling faculty within the school, have been granted $325,281 by the U.S. Department of Interior, Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement to study “fitness for service” of the sealing assemblies and cement systems in shallow well designs by conducting scaled laboratory testing, leakage modeling and risk assessment
