Whenever I tell someone that I live in the dorms, I get so many different reactions from people. Most of the time, I always hear about how much fun they had and how much they love their roommate from the past year. They also mention how much they miss having a meal plan and miss eating at the Caf. Now that I’ve been here for about a month, I completely understand what they have been talking about. Personally, I have really enjoyed living in the dorms so far! I live in the Adams Center, in the Johnson Tower, but I go to Walker and Couch all the time. All of the towers are great because each one has something different at the bottom, and you can go hang out there whenever you want. I have friends that live in every tower, so its fun to go over and see where they live.I also love my dorm room! My roommate and I have made it so cozy that it feels like home. Lately, I have been really busy with school and getting involved in so many different activities, so when I come back to my room I’m so happy to have a comfy place of my own. It’s really nice to be able to come back to my room and get to hang out with my roommate, make a snack, and just watch TV. I didn’t realize how busy life was going to get, but whenever I get time to relax, I definitely cherish my time. My suitemates, roommate, and I have also all learned that we have to share the responsibilities of cleaning the bathroom and trying to share the space. It can be tough every once in a while to have the four of us all share together, but we have learned to compromise and share the chores of taking out the trash or sweeping the floor. Also, it’s been really fun to get to meet people on my hall and get to know my RA or resident adviser. Life in the dorm is so much fun, and I can’t wait to see how to the rest of the year goes!
