On Monday night at 8 p.m., OU students made their way to the Molly Shi Boren Ballroom in the Union, where history was soon to be made. Sooners Helping Sooners, a new student initiative raising money for OU students in financial crisis, planned a World Record Trust Fall Event. The goal was to set a Guinness World Record for the world’s largest simultaneous trust fall, which had to include at least 250 students (125 pairs). We danced, laughed, and hung out with our amazing Sooner family until we reached this goal. The excitement in the room was unbelievable as everyone trusted their partners and fell into their arms. Cameras flashed, and people cheered. We can all proudly say that we were a part of a record-breaking night.

And of course, we all enjoyed those delicious Eskimo Sno Cones afterwards!

This is another reason why I love OU. There are so many wonderful opportunities available on campus, such as setting world records.

Like our first university president, David Ross Boyd, said, ” What possibilities!”
