So here I am two weeks into my JUNIOR year at OU! Wow, I seriously cannot believe how quickly the time has flown by. I’m beginning to miss those gen-eds as I sit in some of my first 3000-level classes wondering if I’m in the wrong class as I look at the insane syllabus in front of me. Haha, but it’s all going to be a-okay. Why? Because we have incredible three day weekends like Labor Day Weekend. Let me just let you in on my awesome weekend as a Sooner.

Is it really April 2…already?! I feel like it was the first day of school last month, OU/TX a few weeks ago, Christmas break a few weeks ago and our crazy snow days extravaganza yesterday!

This semester has been insane. It’s had its ups and downs and my classes have been pretty tough. I’ve been busy running from this thing to that thing and being here for this meeting and there for that interview…and everything that falls in between. But I wouldn’t trade any of it for anything.

Hello Everyone!

Well, Thanksgiving break is (unfortunately) over and it is time for the longest, tiring, most stressful time of the year during the most wonderful time of the year! Why must Christmastime and finals have to collide?!

My Charlie Brown Christmas tree is set up in my room, though, with a star on top that absolutely dominates. It’s really awesome. But anyway, finals are approaching around the corner and even though I’m excited for the semester to be over, I have to be honest– it’s pretty bittersweet. I know, I know, I’m only a sophomore but STILL! College is going so fast and I need it to slow down because I’m certainly not ready to be one semester closer of being done! You’re probably thinking how high school flew by, well college is like the fast forward button on the 16x faster option! Despite the cheesy-ness of that example, it’s true.

Hello Readers!

Wow, so I cannot believe how fast these past weeks have gone by! And I realized I haven’t blogged lately…my sincere apologies! So what have I been up to lately?! Oh you know, EVERYTHING! This past week wrapped up my second round of tests and they went well! 🙂 I also started my online History class this past week, which is adding to the craziness! However, one thing I will say while I’m on that note is how it is really nice to come in with as many credits (like from AP tests and the sort) as you can, so you can knock out your gen-eds as fast as possible! Unfortunately, I didn’t score high enough on the History AP test (hahaha OH WELL!) so instead of taking it at OU, I just decided it probably be easier and cheaper to take an 8-week online courese through my community college back home. So yeah, I’ve been reading up on Native Americans and all the European settlers this past week– how fun.

Is the famous line “it’s all Greek to me” ringing true for you? Well ladies, if you’re considering going Greek while you’re at OU, here are some quick tips to make the rush process not so stressful!

First of all, I’d like to let you know that although Greek life is very dominant at OU, there are sooooo many other things to get involved with on campus! Trust me. Coming into freshman year, I decided not to go through formal recruitment because I had absolutely no idea what sororities were all about! No one in my family “went Greek” and a few people I knew already at OU hadn’t gone through rush and they were loving college life so why dive straight into something I know absolutely nothing about?! And to be honest, freshman year was a B-L-A-S-T!! I got involved in President’s Community Scholars, Baptist Student Union, Recruitment Services, CAC and so on and so on! But after meeting a ton of friends who were in sororities and seeing what Greek life was all about, I decided to go through rush this past August as a sophomore and I don’t regret it one bit! I must say it was nice seeing my friends on the other side of the front door in some of the houses I visited during rush, because it is semi-overwhelming if you don’t know what to expect. But let’s get start from the beginning…

Hello Readers!
So here I am– a SURVIVOR of one of the most stressful weeks ever! Monday, Tuesday AND Wednesday I had an exam in a class so my brain is officially fried. Actually, I am just relieved that it’s all over even though I was very anti-social for 3 days in a row, haha.

Hello! My name is Alanna Sellinger & I’m a sophomore here at the University of Oklahoma! These past few weeks of school have been absolutely crazy—for me, it’s always hard to get back into a school routine after the carefree months of summer! But I guess for starters, I’ll tell you a little bit about myself, so here it goes…
