Remember this guy? He popped up last time I talked Goozex, the popular game trading site that proves an interesting – and rewarding – alternative to selling old stuff at Gamestop. You won’t pull much in the way of cash from it, sure, but the service rewards anyone patient enough to pick up a game some months after release.
And, for college students, the site now tastes just a little sweeter: running until January 31st, 2010, students with a .edu email address don’t have to pay a dime to trade. That’s pretty exciting stuff, since it lets you dive right in on trading and utilize Goozex’s wide network for nary a penny.
And…that’s it. Happy Thanksgiving, folks.

One thing I’m still not quite sure about on the site after using it for over a year: the Friends list. What is the purpose? You can’t choose to trade with friends, the system still just queues you up with everyone else. Can you explain that?

As far as I can tell, the Friends list has no usefulness beyond social networking. I’m sure the head honchos behind the site are planning great things for the feature as I write this, but for now it’s just a way to keep in touch with any friends you meet on the Goozex forums.
Can’t blame ’em for wanting to foster a sense of community, I guess.
