Holiday Madness!

Don’t get me wrong, people. I like you. Most all of you. I appreciate you all so much, in fact, that I’m going to spend five laborious minutes here to copy-paste a few tiny links. See how hard it is to be a blogger? Madness!

Seriously, though. Click these. For the gamer in your life who has some association with Steam or Good Old Games, this is clearly the most wonderful time of the year, replete with sales on every good PC game imaginable. The quantity of sales is so gargantuan, in fact, that I won’t bother to hammer them all out here, for the sake of both my sanity and my laptop’s dwindling battery. As a nerd of refined taste, however, I can offer recommendations!

Steam’s Holiday Sale

Mind-bogglingly good, overall, but if you act within the next 12 hours you can pick up Mirror’s Edge, Grand Theft Auto IV, and Stalker: Shadow of Chernobyl for around five dollars each. Madness! More great deals happen every day, so keep an eye on that page.

Good Old Games Holiday Sale ’09

Beyond Good & Evil (one of my top five!), Gothic 2: Gold Edition (excellent, but difficult), Arx Fatalis (see previous parentheses), Psychonauts (fantastic and charming!), etc. All for reasonable prices, and all mixed in with a hundred-long list of heavily discounted games. Good Old Games, as you hopefully recall, deals primarily with older titles, but don’t let that deter you from getting your holiday game going.

Happy holidays, folks!
