Adding The Facebook “Like” Button – CQ5

If you’re comfortable with HTML and want an easy way to add the Facebook “Like” button to your page, Facebook makes this easy for you with plugins. In CQ5, there’s a component available to custom migrations called “script” which makes this plugin available to use in your site.

  1. Copy this code snippet:
    <script src=”http://connect.facebook.net/en_US/all.js#xfbml=1″></script><fb:like href=”http://www.ou.edu/home/webcomm.html” layout=”button_count” show_faces=”false”  font=””></fb:like>
  2. Add the “Script” component to your page in CQ and paste this snippet above into the component.
  3. Change the link in bold above to the correct page.
  4. Refresh the page and activate!

Here it is on the Web Communications home page: http://www.ou.edu/home/webcomm.html

Additional options are available from the Facebook Plugin page if you wish to try other display options: http://developers.facebook.com/docs/reference/plugins/like/
