Happy Slideshow Reordering Day!

Bring your party hat. I’ll make cupcakes. Slideshow reordering arrived yesterday.

It’s a happy, healthy CQ5 slideshow component. Here is its first picture:

Notice the new field under Title and Link. Reordering is controlled in the Slide_Order_Number field. Every image in the slide has a field in which you can assign a number (or order). Lower numbers will display before higher numbers. For example….

Pretend I have three slides. If I want Slide C to display before Slide A, I’ll give Slide C a number 1 and Slide A a number 3.

  • Title: Slide A
    Slide_Order_Number: 3
  • Title: Slide B
    Slide_Order_Number: 2
  • Title: Slide C
    Slide_Order_Number: 1

My slides will now display in the following order: Slide C, Slide B, Slide A. If I need to add a new, high priority slide, no problem. I can reorder it to the front.

  • Title: Slide A
    Slide_Order_Number: 4
  • Title: Slide B
    Slide_Order_Number: 3
  • Title: Slide C
    Slide_Order_Number: 2
  • Title: Slide D
    Slide_Order_Number: 1

After activation, the slides will display in the following order: Slide D, Slide C, Slide B, Slide A. Any lower number will display before a higher number. If you have questions, feel free to call our office. You can also email cmshelp@ou.edu anytime. In the meantime, I’m updating the CQ5 training videos. The new slideshow component video will highlight this in more detail, and I’ll be sure to post it here.
