Hello, Award Season! #TeamWebComm Monday Trivia will be replaced with awards we’ve won as they start arriving at our office. This week, we are thrilled to receive Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) awards!
Awards from left:
Mason Drumm, photographer. Award: Honorable Mention for Sooner Reflection. Category: Printed Publications. One of my favorite photos and one of the most popular on OU social media! One of the first photos Mason took when he started, it’s a great example of the beautiful work Mason shoots on a daily basis.
Ame Aziere, videographer. Award of Merit: Sooner Classroom Magazine EngageOK Publication. Category: Printed Publications. The EngageOK Education Event offers learning opportunities, professional development and training for everyone from the engaged parent to school administrators and teachers of Oklahoma. Not only a videographer, Ame is also a very gifted designer/animator. In fact, this was a project that came about very close to the event itself. She executed this magazine beautifully (with content from Morgan) and it was ready to go for EngageOK, showcasing amazing work from OU.
Morgan Day, content manager. Award of Merit: Sooner Classroom Magazine & The Lego Man with a Lego Plan. Category: Writing. As Ame vigorously worked up the design of the Sooner Classroom Magazine, Morgan was busy preparing the written content, which also won an award! Additionally, the Q&A she and majestic intern, Kylie, conducted with OU’s own Lego Man also received an award in the writing category.
Candace Timmons, social media marketing manager. Uppercase Award: Boomer Swooner – #SoonerLove2015. Category: Electronic Communications. One of my favorite things to do on OU social media is highlight current events, holidays and pop culture within our brand. You’ve probably heard me discuss this if we’ve ever talked social media. Jurassic World and Harry Potter were a couple of my favorites. I’ve even blogged about why this is important. So every Valentine’s Day, what better way to celebrate love and our university than with Valentine’s Day cards Sooner Nation can electronically send to each other??? Answer: There’s not a better way…and we have the Uppercase award to prove it. 😉
It’s always fun to receive recognition for our efforts, but most importantly, these awards so how diverse our talents are. #TeamWebComm is made up of award-winning writers, photographers, video experts, designers, developers and social media marketers. As different as our skill sets are, they complement each other flawlessly and allow us to produce truly remarkable work on a very consistent basis!
Hoping we don’t drop the sharp ones on our feet,
