Football season is the most exciting time of the year for many OU fans. It’s the time when fall comes, the temperature drops, and every Saturday is filled with fun game-day-themed meals and activities. There’s no better time to experience game day than when you live on campus. Living on campus gives you an advantage over other Sooner fans on game day.
First, there’s the convenience of your location – when you live on campus, you don’t deal with game day traffic or parking, a huge perk. All of the activity takes place right on your home turf (literally); so, you can hop around and see what your fellow Sooners are doing before kickoff. No matter what’s going on, you’re steps away from game day festivities.
For those 11 a.m. games (cough, cough, West Virginia), you can just roll out of bed, grab some of your hallmates and begin your game day feast. That brings us to our next perk: the vast number of options for food before, during and even after the game. Run by Einstein Bros Bagels in Headington Hall for a bagel and cup of coffee before the game – you’ll need something to energize you for the rest of the day. While you’re in the stadium, there are plenty of options to choose from for your game-time dining experience. Try the build-your-own burger or some loaded fries. (You can even use your meal plan points.) Need a post-game snack? Make your way to Crossroads!
On top of all of this, when else are you going to have the chance to live and experience game day with all of your friends? You likely won’t be in this ideal of a situation again.
Someday, you’ll stand in the stadium gazing over at the residence halls, longing for the time when you could just walk back to your room after a long game day. Be sure to make the most of it while you live on campus – these days will be gone before you know it!
