Take a Tour of Your Future Home

Welcome to the freshman housing experience! The University of Oklahoma has six different residence halls.

Adams, Couch and Walker Centers

In Adams, Couch and Walker Centers, residents can enjoy a suite-style room. In the suite-style rooms, students share a semi-private bathroom with their roommate and suitemates.

All rooms in Adams, Couch and Walker Center come equipped with the following furniture: two twin beds, two dressers, two desks, two closets, two night stands and blinds on the window. All furniture is completely moveable and rearrangeable; that means students can arrange and rearrange their rooms in an infinite number of combinations as many times as they want! How cool is that?

Here is a picture of the basic tower suite layout:

Super Suites

The main difference between the Super Suite and the regular Tower suite is how the rooms are divided. Our Super Suites hold up to four students per suite and all four students share one bathroom. In the Super Suite, a wall with an open doorway divides the two bedrooms, and the bathroom can only be accessed through one of the rooms. Our Tower suites have a solid wall dividing the two rooms, and the bathroom can be accessed through each room. By requesting a Super Suite, you can request up to three roommates; however, in a regular Tower suite you can only request your roommate, and your suitemates will be automatically selected for you.

You must have two or three mutual roommates to be considered for assignment in a Super Suite.  Super Suites are assigned on a first come, first served basis depending on your priority date. Your priority date is the completion date of your contract. Super Suites are limited and not guaranteed. Super Suites are only located in Couch and Walker Centers.

Cate Center

Cate Center offers students a more community-style living experience. All rooms in Cate Center come equipped with: two twin beds, two desks and desk chairs, two closets, one bureau and built-in bookshelves. Students have a community-style bathroom. This bathroom is at the end of the hallway and is shared by all the residents on the floor approximately 10-16 students. The bathroom is cleaned daily by OU Housekeeping.

David L. Boren Hall

The David L. Boren Hall is very similar to Cate Center. Students have a community-style bathroom at the end of the hallway that is shared by all the residents on the floor. All rooms come equipped with two twin beds, two desks and desk chairs, two closets, one bureau and built-in bookshelves. This building is also home to the OU Honors College.

Headington Hall

Located on the corner of Lindsey and Jenkins, Headington Hall houses 380 students, both student-athletes, and non-athlete students.

Headington Hall offers four styles of units/rooms; to learn more about the various styles of units click here.

Each unit is furnished and fully equipped with: full-size beds, desk chairs, wardrobes, bureaus, couches, TV stands, microwaves, closets, apartment sized fridges, bar stools and cable TV. Each person will have either their own bathroom or share a bathroom with one person, depending on which type of unit they live in.

Dining service in Headington Hall is different than the meal plans associated with the other housing areas. Headington Hall has its own dining hall inside the building comparable to the Couch Restaurants Caf. If you would like to live in Headington Hall, fill out a contract here. Due to the size of Headington Hall, availability is very limited. Housing assignments for Headington Hall will be assigned on a first come, first served basis after special assignments have been made.

All residence halls come with a facilities management team that you can contact for any of the following problems: plumbing, electrical, lockout, air conditioning or any other concerns you may have with your room. It’s as simple as submitting a maintenance request form, and then step aside and let the facilities management team do their thing!

Special Interest Communities

As a student at the University of Oklahoma, you have many opportunities and resources available to you. One of those opportunities includes the ability to rank your preference of living from several different special interest communities. Let’s take a look at some of these available special interest communities.

  • Global Community – This pairs one international student and one American student per room.
  • National Merit – This floor is for National Merit Finalists and their roommates.
  • Scholastic – A community where an academic focused life is of the uttermost importance to these students. Academics are important and each community of self-identifying students will develop community guidelines that reflect that goal.
  • Quiet Lifestyle – A community where students self-identify that they are interested in a quieter environment.

    • Angela,
The layout and dimensions of the tri-suite rooms are identical to the Tower suite rooms shown above. The only difference is there is a wall with an open doorway that divides the two bedrooms, and the bathroom can only be accessed through one of the rooms.
