Celebrating Graduates during COVID

Mewbourne College Graduates

This weekend when students walk across the stage to receive their diplomas, some of them will be graduating because of the efforts of Mewbourne College of Earth and Energy faculty and staff who lept into action when the pandemic caused the cancellation of Bartell Field Camp – for geoscience majors, and internships – for petroleum engineering majors. Without these elements in their academic careers, deemed essential by Mewbourne College’s accreditors, students would not have been eligible to graduate.

Through creativity, determination, cooperation, and a little bit of Sooner Magic, Mewbourne College faculty and staff found a way to create virtual field camp and to establish externship experiences. Learn more below!
