MPGE Heads to Romania

As part of OU’s commitment to preparing students to operate in our global society through international learning, MPGE has launched its newest study-abroad course under the direction of Associate Professor Catalin Teodoriu. This week, a group of OU petroleum engineering students arrived in Ploiesti, Romania, a little over an hour north of the nation’s capitol in Bucharest. They will be taking part in a course taught at Universitatea Petrol si Gaze Ploiesti (Petroleum and Gas University of Ploiesti) entitled Monitoring and Optimization of Drilling Equipment. Teodoriu is no stranger to this university having received both a master’s and a Ph.D. from there. His first hand knowledge of the area and the industry within the region will be advantageous to the student’s learning. Cultural trips and excursions to visit industry locations are planned for the students, as well as meeting and spending time with their Romanian peers.

MPGE will be featuring student experiences throughout their travels in Europe. Keep checking back to see more of what they are up to and the learn about Romania.
