Before attending their classroom lectures for the day, the group visited the university’s drilling simulator where they learned to operate a rig’s control panels and how to handle a gas kick. They also observed a much larger simulator in use at the university that mimics an actual rig and is used to train students in both surface and subsea drilling operations.
The day ended with a traditional Romanian barbecue at Dr. Teodoriu’s home.
