Emeritus Professor Recognized as a Distinguished Alumni

Emeritus professor, Dr. Subhash Shah, was honored by the University of New Mexico with the Distinguished Alumni Award on Nov. 2, 2017.

The Distinguished Alumni Award Ceremony was held at the Embassy Suites in Albuquerque, NM where Dean Christos Christodoulou of the College of Engineering at the University of New Mexico bestowed the award upon Shah.

According to the UNM School of Engineering’s website, “the Distinguished Alumni Award gives special recognition to graduates of the University of New Mexico School of Engineering (SOE) who have had distinguished careers after graduation.  All awardees are individuals whose outstanding careers and actions have represented the University and SOE in a positive and exemplary manner while providing important contributions to their respective fields of expertise.”

Shah is a graduate of the Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering at UNM. Shah received a master’s in chemical engineering from UNM in 1971 and went on to earn a Ph.D. in chemical engineering from UNM in 1974. He has 40 years of service in the oil and gas industry, and is an emeritus professor of the University of Oklahoma.
