MPGE Professor Selected as SPWLA Distinguished Speaker

The Society of Petrophysicists and Well Log Analysts (SPWLA) has selected Dr. Ali Ousseini Tinni to be a distinguished speaker for the 2017-2018 tour.

Dr. Tinni was selected as a distinguished speaker after a presentation he made at the 2017 SPWLA symposium in Oklahoma City. After the symposium, a scientific committee met to decide which presentations they believed would most impact the petrophysics community, and therefore would need to be presented to a wider audience.

According to their website, “SPWLA provides information services to scientists in the petroleum and mineral industries, serves as a voice of shared interests in our profession, plays a major role in strengthening petrophysical education, and strives to increase the awareness of the role petrophysics has in the Oil and Gas Industry and the scientific community.”

Dr. Tinni will be traveling around the United States to cities with SPWLA chapters presenting on “New Perspectives on the Effects of Gas Adsorption on Storage and Production of Natural Gas from Shale Formations.”
