OU AADE Hosts Informative Tech Talks for Students

On August 23, the OU AADE section was pleased to have Mr. David Rosby-Lead, Cement Engineer; Mr. Brian Pfeiff, Senior Technical Advisor and Mr. Dillon Bellamy, Technical Professional and OU Alumni lead a tech talk for the students of MPGE.

More than 70 students attended the event. The talk was about Halliburton service lines and the oilfield integration services. The presenters highlighted Halliburton segments and operations worldwide along with the technical background in every step. The talk ended with Q&A and networking session for students.

The second tech talk was given by Ryan Ray from R-Squared Global on Sep. 8. The hosts of several oil and gas podcasts visited the chapter for the talk. Ray is the co-author of “Career in The Oil and Gas Industry.”

The visit started with a tour for Mr. Ray and Dr. Joe Dancy, the Executive Director of Oil and Gas, Natural Resource and Energy Center. Dr. Catalin Teodoriu took the guests to the OU drilling simulator and around the labs in Sarkeys. After that, the talk began with an overview of the oil and gas career field and how to set yourself apart in such a complex industry in which finding a job can be difficult. Looking at the connection and network with potential employers toward writing a rigid resume were all part of the discussion. The talk ended with an open-floor question and answer session with Mr. Ray.
