TESTS…TESTS…and…MORE TESTS!!! As one of the biggest holidays for Sooner-affiliated people draws near, one thing that has everyone stressed out is upcoming midterms—> which has caused a spreading epidemic that is reaching all OU students, OU-TEXASitis. Instead of focusing on homework, upcoming tests, weekly events, and so forth, emphasis is being placed on hotel reservations, the Texas state fair, festivities, and the GAME! With the bombard of homework assignments, late nights in Wagner Hall, and the many “all nighters” I have pulled, I definitely didn’t think that I would be starting the year off quite like this. Please hold on just a minute….while I catch my breath.

I guess that I can introduce myself…my name is Kelsi Colvin and I am a sophomore here at the University of Oklahoma. You may ask, why did you decide to come to OU? What is campus life like? I will just summarize it into one word…AMAZING! I chose this university because it was really unique. Norman is definitely a college town, and with the many festivities that cater to college students, I felt like I was right at home. At first, I wasn’t really sure as to what university I planned on going to, but my high school counselor, Mrs. Linda Butemeyer, told me about one of the biggest recruitment days for high school seniors, “Sooner Saturday.”  On Sooner Saturday (which I hope you all mark your calenders for November 21st) I really felt like I was being inducted into Sooner Life! Make sure that you come, I promise that you won’t be sorry that you did!!

With a lack of sleep, homework up to the roof, and tests that I promise all of my teachers have conspired against me to put on the SAME day, my life, this life of a college student…let’s just say I wouldn’t trade it for the world. I really have to finish my homework before the game, so until then…inhale….and exhale because in college, you will not get enough moments to do a simple act like breathing.

XOXO
Kelsi C.
