I have written “BLOG” on my to-do list every week since the start of my sophomore year, and this is my first post. That should be an indication of how my year is going thus far. Let me quickly catch you up on what’s been going on in my life…

I had way too much fun over summer, but still managed to land an internship with the product development department of my dad’s company. I continue to put in as many hours as possible while at school for a little extra income. More importantly, I’m making great connections that will surely help me in the future.

Instead of living in my 100-year-old my fraternity house, I moved into the Cottages of Norman with three fraternity brothers. I know I’m missing out on some late-night fun at the house, but I love my place. It’s home. My roommates are becoming family, and I’ve met neighbors that are quickly becoming my best friends.

I’m still single, although I did try to make something work out recently. I’ve realized that I’m simply too young and immature for a relationship, but I’m content with accepting that fact and focusing on having fun.

And speaking of fun… I spontaneously decided to study abroad next semester! I filled out the application the night before it was due, and got accepted last week to the program in ViƱa del Mar, Chile. I can’t stop looking at the Google Images results of the beach I’m about to live on for 5 months. I’ll live with a host family and take 12 hours of class, helping me obtain a minor in Spanish. My main reason for studying abroad, though, is for personal growth. I’m so ready to be out of my comfort zone and immersed in a completely different culture from my own. It will be a once in a lifetime experience, and I’m anxious to board that plane in March.

If anything else of importance comes up in my life, I’ll try to remember to share. Now, back to studying for me.
