Is it really April 2…already?! I feel like it was the first day of school last month, OU/TX a few weeks ago, Christmas break a few weeks ago and our crazy snow days extravaganza yesterday!

This semester has been insane. It’s had its ups and downs and my classes have been pretty tough. I’ve been busy running from this thing to that thing and being here for this meeting and there for that interview…and everything that falls in between. But I wouldn’t trade any of it for anything.

Why? Because it’s helping me finish well. Looking back and seeing all the chaos of my schedule motivates me that I can conquer each day, each week, one at a time. At times, college can be hard; actually sometimes, it just beats you up. But for some reason (and some how) you just get back up and you make your comeback. I’ve had weeks like that this semester and looking back, I don’t know HOW I made it through some of the weeks and homework loads I’ve had. But my mindset is this: If I did it then, I can do it now.

Plus, I’m in this whole mood of “finishing well” because of two things: 1) 1 Corinthians 9:24 and 2) I’m obsessed with running and when I run, I finish well. I don’t stop to walk right before I’m about to be done. Actually, I do just the opposite: I sprint. Because everyone knows it’s not how you start, but how you finish…the end of a matter is better than its beginning.

So, as much as I don’t want to do homework, and study, and think about finals (ohhh goodness…!!) I am determined to finish well, and to finish strong.

As you’re finishing this year — whether you’re a freshmen or senior, or somewhere in between —  finish well and always keep your focus on what’s to come. If you just look at the “right now” it can be discouraging because it doesn’t always look promising. But if you keep your eyes on down the road (end of school, graduation, VISITING OU!, COMING TO OU!, etc.), the hard work you have to put up with now is SO worth it!

And that’s my thought of the day.

Oh, my other thought of the day is that, if you’re already signed up for Junior Day — I hope you enjoy every minute of it! Actually, it was my first campus visit to OU when I was looking at schools and what made me decide I wanted to come here! So I guess you could say I’m kind of partial since it’s pretty “sentimental” and all… 🙂

Boomer Sooner ya’ll! 🙂
