The campus recreational facility known as the Huff (formally the Huston Huffman Center) offers an eclectic variety of groups fitness classes.  For an incredibly reasonable price, students can take advantage of these courses and be trained by certified instructors in a fun group atmosphere.

This semester I am taking the opportunity to attend some of these classes.  As such, it has come to my attention that I need to  work on my Downward-Facing Dog pose.

This weekend was Family Weekend at the University of Oklahoma. (Parents’ Weekend is in the spring.)  My parents drove to Norman on Saturday, and we partook in some of the Family Weekend festivities all over campus.   Read more

Sunday, the first of November, Owl City performed in front of a capacity crowd at the McCasland Field House on the campus of the University of Oklahoma.  As a member of CAC Concert Series, I was responsible for promotion during the weeks leading up to the show, and the night of the show I worked to ensure things ran smoothly.  Overall it was a fantastic evening, but the highlight of the show was not what you would expect. As homecoming week approaches, I am reminded of my freshman year.  My first college homecoming experience was certainly a memorable one, but unfortunately for all the wrong reasons.

Anyone’s first year as a university student is going to be an adjustment, whether you attended a prestigious college prep school or a small public school.  My initial foray into university life was no different, and the homecoming week of my freshman year was by far the most challenging of my young college career at the time.  Looking back now, however, I see that this was definitely a formative growing experience.

Friday evening the band Great Lake Swimmers played a fantastic concert in Meacham Auditorium in the Oklahoma Memorial Union. The show was free to the public. I am a member of the Campus Activities Council Concert Series Executive Committee, which is the group of students that are responsible for scheduling, promoting, and working the various concerts that take place on the University of Oklahoma campus.
