By this time last year, I was 100% a Sooner! I had everything finished and I was ready to go! I was counting down my last days as a Kansan before I officially moved to the Sooner State. One thing that I looked forward to a lot was dorm life! I couldn’t wait to find out who I would be living with and how I was going to decorate my side of the room!

This is my room! (Yes, for those of you looking at the TV, I’m watching the Masters! My TV is generally on ESPN or the game!) I’m big on black and white, so I went with black, white and a pop of color. At first, my accent was Tiffany Box Blue, and then after Christmas break I decided to switch it to apple green. That lasted a little less than a week, because I found a crimson pillow (the one in the middle) at Target that I had to have! So I switched my apple green accessories to crimson and I have stuck with it!

I have a lot of throw pillows on my bed so I can use it as a couch (a body pillow works just as well). It makes for extra seating without buying a futon or chair that just takes up space in your dorm. It’s perfect for watching TV or just hanging out, and it makes the room look fun and festive!

Future Sooners! It’s APRIL! Can you believe it?! I certainly cannot! I can’t believe that my freshman year is almost over. I decided last year about this time that I would attend OU, and I am so happy I did. It has been nothing short of amazing! Last year at this time I was excited for a lot of things… prom, the awards banquet, graduation, and then summer. I kept thinking about how as soon as summer was over, I’d be in Norman, Oklahoma, and I’d be a freshman! I thought I would share my Top Ten Favorite Things from freshman year!

Hi there! It’s been a long while since my last blog, time for a serious update! Life has been crazy lately! I cannot believe that it’s already December and finals are almost here! Between classes, school work, and life, you rarely have a break for some “me time.” When you get those moments, take them! They are few and far between.

Other than classes, I’ve been keeping busy with various activities. I’m on Winter Welcome Week exec this fall, and we are so busy planning events for the first week back from winter break, but it’s one of my favorite activities! We meet every Monday and have a good time planning WWW 2011! It’s so much fun, we all joke around with each other, but some how we get the job done. I’m definitely ready (even though Christy French, WWW Chair, may not be…) for the first week back from break to be here to see all of our hard work pay off! It’s going to be awesome. Then again, I’m ready for a nice and long break, so Winter Welcome Week, you don’t have to be here just yet!

Regular season football is over, and now it’s time for some post-season fun! This past weekend was the last Big XII Championship ever, and we beat Nebraska, one of OU’s biggest rivals and the team responsible for disbanding the Big XII Conference. I was there, cheering on the Oklahoma Sooners in my crimson and cream, and it was one of my favorite games of season! My other favorite game was the one at Mizzou, even though we lost. My best friend and I made the trip all the way to Columbia, Missouri, for College Game Day and the game, and even though we didn’t come back with a win, the trip was definitely worth it! Katy and I met Lee Corso and Kirk Herbstreit, and if you know me, you know I could NOT pass up a photo op with Corso and Herbie! (Now all I need is one with the ESPN love of my life, Scott Van Pelt! Someday, someday.)

Hi there! My name is Jordann Wiltfong, I’m a freshman here at the University of Oklahoma, majoring in Journalism. I’m from a very small town in the northwest corner of Kansas, and so incredibly excited to finally be a Sooner! Coming from Kansas, I knew no one else here at OU. I was kind of nervous when I moved in early for rush, but all of my nerves disappeared as rush began.
