May Mayhem!

Ye-AH! It’s May! 2009’s best month by far!

Well, okay, let’s just pretend that storm season isn’t at its peak and let’s especially not talk about Finals week. So, with that, May is great!

Why? Because May is movie madness month!

Six – six! – highly anticipated and (hopefully) blockbuster movies are being released this month! Six! That’s entertainment heaven (and possibly suicide, rating-wise anyway).

This weekend, X-Men Origins: Wolverine (a wonderful movie!) is being released. That’s May 1st‘s big hit. Battle for Terra (animated) and Ghosts of Girlfriends Past (romantic comedy) are also being released.

May 8th‘s big hit is Star Trek (which, personally, I cannot wait to see!). Next Day Air is also being released.

May 15th is a “tame” weekend with only Angels and Demons being released as the big movie. I suspect this is because Angels and Demons will wipe the box offices and no one wants to compete.

May 21st will be a big weekend. Both Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian and Terminator Salvation are being released. I can’t speak for other people, but when I learned Terminator 4 had  been laid out to honor the others I couldn’t wait for Salvation! Now it’s finished and it looks better than ever. Night at the Museum looks fun too, a definite must see.

May 21st will also see the parody Dance Flick released.

May 29th‘s big movie is Pixar’s latest masterpiece Up (in 3D!). The horror movie Drag Me to Hell is also being released, but Up will probably take the box office.

So, on top of the six – six! – there’re five other movies being released. There’re probably several more too, but they’re not being released everywhere.

See? May is an amazing month! Movie after movie is being released! This is entertainment heaven! Better save up your money for tickets and popcorn!

You have me excited for the summer, just so I can spend my time inside watching all the new flicks coming out. That’s very impressive.
Thanks for telling me to check out your blog. I can tell already I will be a constant reader.
