So, if you’re not attending the OU/saxet game, you’ll need something to do this weekend. And here’s tha hookup.
Should Do: Do I really need to tell you that, inexplicably, U2 will be in Norman on Sunday? I didn’t think so.
Also, you should hit up Resound on Thursday, where the Non will be bringing their incredibly catchy and emotionally powerful instrumental rock to a limited number of tickets (they’re really set on keeping fire code; props to good management). Think Explosions in the Sky, but with a funky bassist and way more adrenaline.
Could Do: On Friday you could make your way up to Stillwater and see Mae at OSU’s homecoming. Their lively piano-pop should redeem the fact that Orange Peel was really disappointing this year.
If you don’t feel like leaving town, head over to the Opolis and watch Early Beat release I Need This Beat Right Now. Their pop-rock might not interest some, but the atmosphere at releases is always great, so it might be the pick-me-up you need to get over the ‘not-going-to-Dallas-this-year’ blues.
Should Not Do: Get in a fistfight with a police horse down at West End. For serious, the horse will win. And it will spend the night in a more comfortable place than you will if you try it.
