If you’re new to OU, you might wonder… What exactly is CAC?

CAC stands for Campus Activities Council, and, officially, we’re the programming branch of UOSA (OU Student Government). We put on a ton of the really awesome events on campus – like homecoming, concerts, movies every Friday, welcome weeks both semesters and many others. Don’t worry – you’ll learn all about each of the events if you stick with reading Boomer Blogs this year! If you want the quick overview, head over to cac.ou.edu and you can see the complete list.

CAC makes things happen on campus, and every event is completely planned and run by students. The way it works is that each event has a chair, and he or she is responsible for the event. Each chair has an executive committee that helps with planning all of the details of the event – from sponsorship to public relations to deciding exactly what’s going to happen. Volunteers also help out when the event comes, so that there are plenty of people making sure everything runs smoothly! There are a ton of opportunities to get involved at every level with CAC events – from being on a planning committee to just coming and enjoying the events.

Joining CAC, like any other organization on campus, is a great way to make friends and make the memories you’ll talk about for the rest of your life. When you’re on a CAC exec, leadership development is huge – so CAC is a great way to grow as a leader and as a person.
