Computer labs, study rooms and the library will become your best friend during Dead Week and Finals Week.

 

As the semester winds down, I realize I have not written nearly enough for my Boomer Blog. At the beginning of the semester, I had plans to write once every other week, maybe even once a week. I promise to make it my New Year’s Resolution to write more for you all. I love this school and want to share everything I know and love about it with you.

I know you all are in high school, but you will soon be in college. And in college, finals are just around the corner. Seeing as we are currently in what us college students call “dead week,” I decided it would be a pretty good idea to give you all some tips and tricks for avoiding meltdowns of catastrophic proportions during everybody’s two least favorite weeks of college.

It’s currently 3:33 in the morning and it is so sad that I think it is early. Here lately my life at OU has consisted of late night studying for finals… yes it’s crunch time! I have started to realize that, maybe it’s because I’m in my first semester, but I’m not really sure how to prepare at this point. I’ve been attending my classes, meeting my professors during office hours, and re-reading over my notes. Finals are difficult to describe. I feel prepared, yet I don’t! It’s an exciting feeling knowing the semester is almost over, yet frightening to think that my first college finals are here! I feel that the only thing getting me by at this point is knowing I get to go home in about a week, and start a fresh semester after that! I could not be more excited for next semester. I’ve learned so much this semester, both academically and about myself. This semester has been filled with wonderful things happening around campus… Have you heard about them?!  Read more

Hello future Sooners!

I can’t believe that this semester has gone by so fast! I’m a freshman so it is crazy to think that I am already heading into my second semester of freshman year. So finals are coming in the next two weeks, and classes are starting to slow down and just review over all of the information from this past semester. What I have learned from this past week of being back from Thanksgiving break is that before you leave for the break, make sure you have your work done and can come back prepared, not behind.
