Latest Movie Sensation

Right, I should be saying goodbye like my fellow bloggers. I’m also graduating and moving on into the big people world. But I can’t.

Why? Because, hello, Iron Man 2 and Robin Hood just came out. After a year of reviewing movies and general entertainment, how I can let the newest and latest entertainment storm go by?

I can’t.

And I won’t.

So let’s talk Iron Man 2 first. It’s good. Not nearly as good as the first one but that’s to be expected. No second movie ever triumphs the first movie (unless it’s a trilogy featuring hobbits then that statement is debatable.)

But Iron Man 2 is worth the money. There’s action, plenty of it, some witticisms (they could have used more but I’m hardly complaining), and some creepy bad guys. Mickey Rourke owned the tough and silent bad guy role while Sam Rockwell played an excellent badass annoyance that made you laugh and grated your nerves the whole time.

With the Iron Man storyline already established, there was more for the writers and the directors to play on. The dialogue between Pepper and Tony, the ego of Tony, and even the role of S.H.I.E.L.D. It’s all there and it’s all very Stark-esq. Which, of course, is awesome.

Robert Downey Jr. was a success as Iron Man, but after the first Iron Man no one expected any less.

Now, Robin Hood. Ridley Scott’s newest movie is being met with controversy all over. Is it good or is it bad? Some people say it goes on to long and the myth behind Robin Hood is lost. Others say that the story is spot-on when talking about a real person doing the things the romanticized Robin Hood does.

This is one of those movies you have to see for yourself and judge for yourself. But, if you want the romantic Robin Hood who is perfect and can do no wrong, I wouldn’t recommend seeing Scott’s version. Go rent the Disney animated version.

This is a more realistic telling of Robin Hood.

But it’s not Iron Man 2, with easy entertainment achieved through snarky comments and badass fight scenes. This storyline draws you in and reintroduces you to a new character.

As such, this is a movie you have to judge on your own. No one can tell you to like it or not.

Actually, no one can tell you that for any movie.

Anyway, check out these newest movies because they’re worth it and have a great day, week, month, year, LIFE!

Thanks for reading.

I had a blast writing about entertainment every week.
