Dr. Saeed Salehi is a co-investigator in a $9.7 million Department of Energy grant to conduct a study to better understand how to recover oil in the Tuscaloosa Marine Shale, a geological formation that covers 28 parishes in central and south Louisiana, and several southwestern Mississippi counties. This region holds an estimated 7 billion barrels of light, sweet crude oil.
