My, my, my! Only two more weeks until finals are here. I can just sense the stress in the air. Sigh…Ah but knowing that after finals I have a nice long break makes everything a-okay. Oh wait, did I say I have a break? Because…I don’t. After my finals are over I will have a nice break of 5 days before I start my intersession Spanish class. But that’s okay. I signed up for it so I don’t think I should complain too much. I think I’m thinking too far into the future anyway. Before I can even think about that intersession class, I have to think about MY FINALS. AHHHH!

It’s 4:15 a.m., and I’m on the 12th floor study lounge of Muldrow Tower. I have eight items on my to do list for the night, and this blog entry is number six. My roommate is on my left, studying for Spanish and playing fratmusic.com playlists to keep us awake. My suitemate is on my right, catching up on homework. Why aren’t we sleeping? Because there are three weeks of our freshman year at college remaining, and we don’t want to waste a moment. I’ll sleep when I die.

Only about two more months until my first year as a Sooner will be completed. My, my. Time does fly. It seems like only yesterday that I was starting my first day of classes. I feel accomplished and just a tad nostalgic for last semester. But it’s too early to reminisce.

So my freshman year is almost over…WOW. How did that happen? We only have five more weeks of school left and I’m sad, weird huh? You’d think I’d be excited that summer’s almost here, but it’s crazy that my first year is almost gone. I’m happy to say I’ve had amazing teachers, made so many new friends, and was very involved on campus. I’ve never felt so happy with my life. I’m excited about my future here at OU and in general. I’ll be taking summer courses and will permanently be living in Norman in my new apartment! Life is so great here, there’s always something to do and so many new things to try, and so many new people to meet! So even though my first year is almost done with, I’m even more excited for the years to come.

Last week, I got to go with some other student leaders to Washington, DC to lobby congresspeople as part of the Big XII and OU. It’s called Big XII on the Hill and it’s where student leaders from the Big XII universities go to Washington DC to remind our congresspeople of how important higher education is. First of all, I was totally nervous because I’ve never lobbied for anything before in my life! But, it was a ton of fun, and I learned a lot!
